*** poor customer service.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
So I ordered a DB224 for a government customer and didn't get a shipping notification for a week. I emailed and asked what was up. I asked specifically when or if it had been shipped. I got a return email telling me the shipping company has my contact info but didn't answer the question. I emailed again asking again does the shipping company have the antenna and again I got the same response. In that email I told the manager that I felt like I was getting slight of hand and my question is not being answered. I emailed again only this time I was alot more verbose about him not answering the question. WTF was used to let him know I'm getting a tad irritated with the responses. For that one I received no response. That was on Wednesday. Day before Thanksgiving. So I get a call on Sunday afternoon from the guy and at that point I'm pissed. The answer to the question was never given. So I yes cussed at him. And he told me to not" *** cuss at him" , his words. I told him to cancel the order and hung up. He calls me back and I told him to "cancel the *** order" and hung up. He calls me a third time and tells me they don't cancel antenna orders and asked me if I'm a liberal. Hmmm I told him no and what *** difference does that make and what *** business is it of yours. He then hung up. You just can't make this *** up. That company is a total thumbs DOWN forme.

After the service manager told me he would cancel the order he didn't. He lied his *** off.

So I have an extra antenna that I don't need nor want. I will NEVER EVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. I do not like liars. All this moron had to do was tell me if he had it in stock or not.

Instead he kept giving me the run around. *** poor attitude and doesn't know what good business is.

I bought 3 coax assy's from here, they were LMR400, 2 with PL259/PL259 and one assy was PL259/N-Type. I called and spoke to Frank which I was informed was a co-owner by him, he is the "Customer Service Rep", I called him to inquire how they installed the connectors on the coax, whether they were soldered, crimped etc., Frank informed me the tip/center conductor was soldered and the body was crimped, I accepted this after much homework because I had always soldered the shield and the tip but found crimping was good. Upon receiving the coax all looked good, I was installing my stacked loops and put the loop on the mast on some saw horses and got the coax hooked up and lifted mast to stand on ground leaning up against house until I got on the roof via the ladder, after leaning it there I looked down and there was the end of the coax with the tip only on the center conductor, this is when I became very upset, they LIED, and they know they LIED. So I went up the ladder and removed the threaded collar from the loop antenna, the first thing I notice is this is not crimped, it is a screw on type PL259, then I went back down and looked at the coax end, I wish I could post a pic here .................. anyway, thye used a screw on connector (Lie #1), very cheap, appears to be aluminum, I was told "Quality Crimp On PL259", and to make matters worse, when they stripped back the additional outer jacket, they did not even pull the braid back over the jacket before screwing it on which is why it pulled out because the body was loose on the outer jacket, no solder, braid not pulled back before screwing on and obviously they lied about using crimp connectors and do not even know how to install a screw on type properly, and the connector so cheap that even with all the other failures that the tip was not even remotely secure due to how cheap it was though it could have been due to excessive heat when soldering tip though again ..................cheap cheap cheap. So I call and talk to Frank, he basically calls me a liar, I send a very pointed email to them and then his partner John calls me, I am explaining and he says the connector broke, I said but John it is not a crimp connector like I was told and even still it was installed wrong as a screw on type and it is aluminum body for gods sake the cheapest mess I have ever seen, so he begins to cuss me and tells me F U and hangs up on me like Frank did............................. Yes they are a reseller and the retail goods they have in that dept are legit, but I do not trust people like this that are intentionally defrauding people, I had wondered why I did not see the hex shape under the shrink tubing at the connector but paid it no mind, but now I understand, they LIED, and they know, very sad, so they both hung up on me, I have reported them to the FTC and the BBB and my local AG Office in hopes they will at least be forced to stop screwing people with their shoddy jack leg connectors and to be honest, pure and dishonest Fraud. I hope you all warn people of them, please do not let anyone at least buy any of their premade assy's, I hate to see this happen to me but yet more so to others. So now I am replacing all the connectors on the assy's, thank goodness I had a crimper and Amphenol Crimp PL259's here so I could replace the one for my stacked M2 HO Loops, only downside is I now have to take down the mast my dipole is mounted on with the Diamond 510 on top of it so I can replace that connector, I am not leaving a loose ground up there ................... What a sad sad thing these guys are doing to make an extra buck..................very sad.

“I have only positive thing to say” Before my purchase I had read reviews of The Antenna Farm. I was cautious about ordering, so I called to get a feel of the company.

I had a long and pleasant conversation with the owner in Rexford, MT. I have to believe the few bad reviews resulted from the warehouse and shipping in Blairsville, GA. OR when placing the order the purchaser screwed up and blames The Antenna Farm for their error. The coax that I ordered is Times Microwave LMR-240UFwith the silver/Teflon PL-259 connectors.

When I ordered my coax I told them what I wanted and he repeated b ack to me my order. He double checked what length, the premium solder connecters with the Silver UG-176 Reducer and the 3M brand Heat Shrink.

Like I said in the review title, “I have only positive thing to say”. Also: FAST SHIPPING, order placer 4/4/2020 received 4/7/2020 Bill NW Ohio

I mean if your in a business to make $$$, answer the phone or emails. I have been in business for 20+ years. If I dont answer my phone or emails, I might as well close my business.

Long story short, I went else where to purchase the antennas we needed. Will no longer attempt to use The Antenna Farm.

Poor business sense. Not sure how they are still in business.

Same here. Bad company to do business with.

Won't answer phone or return calls, won't answer emails.

Tried to buy from them for over ten days, got tired of no responses and said the *** with them, took my business elsewhere. Business owner myself, they won't be in business much longer at this rate.

On 9/1 I purchased a Laird Technologies ETRA1440 antenna. It arrived defective. I emailed the company about advance-sending a replacement, because I couldn't find return/exchange information anywhere on the site. I received this email, which I found quite rude: "Just click on "returns" at the bottom left side of any of our website pages." I emailed a screen shot showing there was no such link. I then received this email: "Use a home PC" So, I sent a photo of my computer monitor also not displaying such a link. I then received this email: "Sir it's just a defective antenna for a hobby... not a defective child. I'm sorry you are experiencing such problems." I've already placed over $300 in orders from this company. This is horrible customer service. All I asked for was an advance-shipment replacement, not terse, rude responses from a customer who has already spent $300 and was about to spend $200 more. I'm taking my business elsewhere, and so should anyone else thinking of purchasing from this place.

Incompetent

They have screwed up three orders in a row. The first was actually in my favor. They two antennas when I ordered one. The second mistake was that they sent the high power version of a commercial radio instead of a low power. Despite the problems that has caused me, I accepted it. Now, they sent the wrong frequency range of a radio even after they contacted me and asked if I was willing to wait on the right one; of which I was more than willing to wait. I just replied to the same email that I used to talk to them directly and got a what is obviously his form letter to keep from fixing problems. Don't use them.

Extremely poor business practice

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I'm a new customer to TheAntennaFarm. I had a eye opening very negative experience. I placed an order for commercial grade coaxial Hard-line (Value 300$) from TheAntennaFarm early on a Tuesday morning, I paid for expedited shipping and processing. I also left a comment in the actual order form field about needing the product by a specific day (Friday). I received my order confirmation and receipt a few hours after placing the order. I sent an email later the same day to inquire if I would receive a tracking number. After receiving no reply. I called the next day. Unfortunately here is where things start to turn. Calling the 1(800) number goes directly to voice mail. But calling the "Direct" number listed someone answered. When I ask about the order I was told it was just boxed up. I ask about the shipping, to get the order by Friday. I was told she would speak with someone and return my call. About an hour later "John" called me back and said my order was boxed up and it will be here by March 25th-28th. It should have arrived Friday the 18th, which is what I paid for. I ask him about the expedited shipping and he disconnected the call. I called back and spoke to the lady again and explained the problem (In a very polite but concerned way). She also disconnected my call. I called back again, and ask what's going on? I stated I'm not comfortable with how this is working out. I paid for the shipping. Its a time constraint issue. I need the product by Friday (March 18th) I offered to pay for even high shipping at over 100$ more. I was disconnected again. I called back. "John" answers and says The material has been cut, and packaged there's nothing more I can do for you. By the time I ask about the shipping again I was disconnected. I called back and the lady answers. I ask to PLEASE cancel the order immediately! I was told I'm not allowed to cancel the order. I was disconnected again. Moments after being disconnected I received an email stating No Refunds, No returns, No exceptions. By this time I had already contacted my credit card provider for assistance. While on the phone with the credit card provider John from TheAntennaFarm returns my call. I then placed him on Three-Way with the Credit Card company to resolve the issue. He said. "If you want to use **Explicit** Big Brother bank to **Explicit** me over, That's on you! This is fraud! I have nothing to do with you anymore." And he ended the call. We have this transaction on record, via Credit Card company. Please, buyer beware. I've been through the ringer over this. There was zero cooperation on their part at all. The solution being so simple, to upgrade the shipping. I'm a very reasonable and rational individual. However, this experience and their behavior should never be tolerated. The public needs to be aware of experiences such as this.

The Antenna Farm Delivery Service Review from Salt Lake City, Utah

Only after I placed my order did I see the horrible reviews for this company. I was surprised to find that my order was received in 6 days after ordering. (custom length LMR-400). I was really sweating after placing my order on a Friday, thinking I may have to wait weeks to receive it, then receive it in poor order. I'm happy to report my order was shipped with tracking number on Tuesday following a Friday night order, and received on Thursday. Good service as far as I can tell, no complaints, however I did not have to deal with anyone there, just placed an order on-lne

I'll spare all the details, but just say this was the worst customer service experience I've ever had with online shopping. If you have an issue, owner will be unprofessional, dismissive and then later attack you personally. Had to get a chargeback on the CC which I have never done before in the past. Do your google research on this company and owner. I only found out about his extremely poor business ethics after my own experience. Owner has some personal issues that he takes out on his customers. Buyer beware.

Rude, evil, mean and nasty

Purchased an Icom mobile radio with the illegal modification to make it transmit the entire band, and should come with programming software and a cable. The same cable works for all ICOM radios, so he forced me to buy two cables saying that the software is bundled with a cable, and I had a mobile and a walkttalki. Two software, 2 cables, double the money for him and all he does is copy the software and sell the bootleg copies. Shipping was weeks late, no answer at his phone for weeks. Finally an answer, and I complained about the silence and he trashed me saying that he had a right to a vacation. I countered, fine, then publish that you are closing for vacation or buy a cheep answering machine. He called me a crybaby. I actually called the Sherrif in his town and asked them to drive by and see if he was a bust out with my money in hand. They told me they get a lot of calls about John. This man is a ***, and will give you no end of grief. He is a control freak and thinks he is the center of the universe and customers have no right to expect anything but what he chooses to give them. If you do business with this ***, you are a FOOL..... I finally got my stuff, no complaints except about him. Evil, wicked, mean and NASTY is the best way to describe John.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Worst possible customer service. Impossible to reach via phone and will make good on defective merchandise. I purchased several pieces of Belden 9913f coax with new connectors, shrink sleeve and installation. When the first connector fell off in my hand I checked the others and found the only thing holding the connectors on was the shrink sleeve. The shield on every piece was not soldered and the center conductor was not soldered either. I contacted John Holbrook the owner and told him how displeased I was with his performance and was told to fix the problem myself. Now I have to remove all my antennas from the tower and check each piece and connector. This is allot of unnecessary work. I spent over $550 dollars with The Antenna Farm bad bad bad"

The Antenna Farm's Terrible Customer Service

I purchased several Icom Business Band Radios, a programming CD, and programming cable from the Antenna farm. When I tried to program them the software indicated the radios weren't communicating. I tried calling The Antenna Farm repeatedly, but never got an answer, so I e-mailed. John Holbrook, the owner, replied and thus began a weeks-long e-mail correspondence with John ignoring my questions and giving waste-your-time vague answers. When I pressed him to answer specific questions, like "Will you pay for return shipping charges?" He replied back to "READ" his replies, which never even leave a hint about what he would do about return shipping charges. The Antenna Farm sells products at a low price but John Holbrook provides the worst customer/tech support I've ever encountered. The Antenna Farm has the lowest possible rating from the Better Business Bureau, an F, and I can see why.

Owner belittles customers in emails, has fraudulent policies and business practices

Updated by user Oct 03, 2011

This is my latest and final installment on The Antenna Farm ordeal originally submitted as a complaint in June of this year 2011.

I got a letter from the Montana DOJ, which is a closure of their case against The Antenna Farm. They submitted to me copies of communications received by John Holbrook after their fourth attempt to get him to respond. He also never responded to the Better Bureau at all.

Mr. Holbrook proceeded to twist the facts and make himself appear the innocent party, however, my credit card company agreed with me and returned Mr. Holbrook\'s incomplete refund to him and charged back his bank for the entire amount due me including my shipping costs.

Mr. Holbrook started whining to me that he was charged 3% fees twice and other incidental charges as a result of this ordeal he started, so he feels I am obligated to pay him. Not likely, since he started this ordeal and incurred his own extra costs by being an irresponsible business owner, having only two functioning brain cells and insulting his customers.

Mr. Holbrook learned a valuable lesson in 2011. He pissed off the wrong person this time.

Let this story be a lesson to anyone considering purchasing anything from this guy!

Updated by user Jul 13, 2011

As of 7/13/11

In all fairness to John at the Antenna Farm, I am posting an update on the situation I have had with him. I filed a credit card dispute and they posted my \"full refund\" money back to my account. Just after that happened, John gave me a refund for everything except shipping. The process takes awhile, but the shipping is still in dispute. I do not think I should be charged the shipping if my product does not arrive in the time specified for mailing or if it is not arriving within the time allowed for John\'s return policy. John needs to change his return policy on his web site to 7 days from receipt (just as he said in his email to me) not 7 days from purchase, which is stated on his website.

In any event, starting with my first email, John (true to form) started sending me emails containg derrogatory remarks, such as cry baby, whiner, greedy American and other unnecessary stuff. Now he is quoting bible verses that state I am going to have vengence from God and if I take his coat I should also get his cloak. Again, this is totally unnecessary dialog in a business environment and unacceptable behavior from someone claiming to be a reputable business. Fly-by-night business, yes - reputable business, no.

My main pith and point here is that John has a fly-by night operation and does not even have a business bank account. Everything is done from his family\'s bank account, which is bad news if you have to sue him to recover or collect damages. These are not the hallmarks of a reputable business. Also, John insults and degrades customers who complain about faulty products, shipping problems, defects or any other aspect of his business. These are also not hallmarks of a reputable business.

I am certain that the BBB, Montana Department of Justice and my credit card company will agree with me that I am due a refund on my shipping and that John needs to change the wording on his web site for his shipping and returns policies. But, going forward, I would recommend that anyone considering a purchase from this guy be very aware of the fact that you are more likely to have trouble from him than you are in having a problem free purchase.

Last but not least, this guy claims to be a Christian and wants to pray for customers who have complaints, so they do not go to *** for expressing legitimate grievances about him. Remember, no one doing business with a self-affirmed Radio Nazi has a right to complain, but only to surrender your money to him.

Original review Jul 01, 2011
On June 19, 2011, I placed an online order (#29274) with The Antenna Farm for a GRE PSR 800 radio with an extra antenna (100-001) and requested it be shipped United States Postal Service Priority Mail with a shipping time from two to three days. The radio was $429.95, the antenna was $18.95 and $11.50 for shipping, for a total order price of $460.40. On June 20, 2011, I received an email from John Holbrook (owner) that my order had shipped. On the evening of June 23, 2011, I sent John an email that my shipment did not arrive in the two to three day delivery window and I would have to refuse the package when it arrived the following week due to my receiving it outside the seven day returns window stated on his website. He sent me back an email stating that the returns window was within seven days of my RECEIVING the package not seven days from the PURCHASE date as stated on his website under the returns policy. This sounded suspicious to me. On Monday, June 27, 2011, at 9:39AM, I emailed John again and told him I was refusing delivery of the package, because I felt a bad omen about accepting it and that I have never had a package take so long when mailed Priority Mail. I did not feel comfortable accepting the package beyond the seven day time frame listed on his website. John sent me back another email suggesting I not refuse delivery and instead ship it back to him insured. I sent him another email stating my reasons for not doing things his way, which was due to postal regulations in their Domestic Mail Manual. So, I refused delivery of the package and never took possession of it at any time. The tracking record confirms I refused delivery and it was processed back through Nampa, Idaho en-route to John. John sent me a stinging email that ridiculed me and suggested the package would be lost and he would be screwed if the package was lost. On June 28, 2011, at 4:36PM, I sent him a cordial email citing the specific postal regulations to which I was referring and requesting a prompt refund of my $460.40 when he received the package. My return of the package was based upon my concerns about John and his website. More specifically his returns policy and shipping rules which I explain as follows: John's website specifically states on his main page that a person will never be charged any more than $9.95, regardless of how large the order. I was charged $11.50 and feel John should be more truthful about his charges. It seems he is baiting people with advertising a low shipping fee and implying it is for all orders and then he switches prices once the order is placed. John's website also states under his return policy that if a person is not 100% satisfied with the purchase they may return it within seven days of PURCHASE. I refused delivery of the package because it did not arrive within the seven days. As a result there was no time for me to check and evaluate the contents to ensure the radio was cosmetically acceptable and that it synchronized properly with the software. Since software issues and incompatibilities are not considered defects by the manufacturer I would be stuck with the radio had I not refused delivery. I was not 100% satisfied. When I notified John of the return policy statement on his website he told me in his email that the return period was within seven days of RECEIPT not within seven days of the PURCHASE. This was totally contradictory and gave me concern about John's not knowing what his website states or arbitrarily changing things to suit the situation. Because of the reasons cited above and due to my concerns about John's email behavior I felt I could not trust him and so I searched the web for other problems he may have had. I found numerous complaints about him complete with email threads that show a trend of deception, intimidation of customers and unethical business practices that are fraudulent. Also, not being 100% satisfied I chose not to do any business with him now or in the future. I feel that the Montana Department of Justice should do something to control John HolBrook and his business behavior before something serious happens. It is obvious to me that John is intentionally skirting the law by the shipping and returns policies he has posted on his website and his obvious changeable positions. His shipping statement should be changed to properly reflect exactly what is shipped for $9.95, instead of being vague and ambiguous. His returns policy should reflect exactly what he means, either seven days from PURCHASE or seven days from Receipt of purchase, but not the ambiguity he has displayed on his website and via emails. John is giving the State of Montana a bad name and has made me reluctant to ever patron any business in the state again, chiefly because he conveys the message of a fly-by-night operation and that businesses in Montana are a law unto themselves. He is capricious and as changeable as the weather in both his mood and business policies. I am awaiting my refund for $460.40 and can only hope that he provides that to me once he has his package. But, should he not give me a full refund or only a partial refund, I will file a BBB complaint, a Consumer Affairs complaint and a charge back complaint with my credit card company. However, the pressure your agency can exert upon this individual would go a long way in curbing any future transgressions and help protect the public from this unnecessary nuisance. On June 30, 2011, at 7:49AM, the postal service attempted a delivery of the package and left a notice. There has been no change in that tracking update and I feel that John is stalling, just as he has done with numerous other customers.

When I originally posted this complaint, I did so, so that people like you can read what happened during this transaction. It is very clear from your recent comment, that you glossed over the complaint and did not actually read it.

Try reading the complaint and you will understand exactly what I did and why I did it. I refused this package from John, because he lied about when he shipped it which was found out later. If I had received the package and had accepted it, I would have lost my right to return the package if I had found anything wrong with it. It also would've cost me return shipping.

Because John lied to me I simply chose to refuse the package altogether and not do business with him any longer. Maybe you like supporting liars or otherwise just don't care to fully read the complaints, so that you are knowledgeable about what is actually happening to other consumers.

I really don't care either way!! So, go ahead and do business with this *** if you want to, but you will end up being the loser.

Guest

Both sides of this is weird. Not taking the package because it took longer than 7 days to get there, and saying software sync was the possible issue.....Weird.

I see why he was upset as you started an issue before you even got the package. he was very unprofessional but you started it

Guest

I noticed that you are anonymous. If you were a reputable business you would give your business name and stand behind your name. As far as I'm concerned, birds of a feather flock together.

Buyer you are a ***. I own a business in Missouri and ship out via USPS all the time.

USPS isn't perfect and misroutes packages and has other delays for various reasons often. You have damaged this business and cost him undue expenses because you are a baby.

We fire customers like you in our industry. Don't order from me.
